The Director, Finance/Accounting position exists to oversee all accounting, budgeting, financial analysis, internal policies and procedures, monitors financials, reviews and implements appropriate internal controls, and serves the assigned ministries by providing Godly financial service and advice for financial and planning needs.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Maintains close functional relationships with upper management and working relationship with departmental heads
  • Is responsible for cross-team communication, prioritization, and workflow issues
  • Ensures timely and accurate financial reports
  • Designs and implements accounting policies and procedures that ensures appropriate internal controls
  • Participates in ministry asset protection including, at times, the insurance process
  • Provides appropriate oversight of cash receipts, disbursements, and cash flow
  • Establishes themselves as a ministry partner and a member of the strategic financial services group (high level financial consulting)
  • Recognizes tax and GAAP matters of UBI, excess benefit, lobbying, political intervention, Accountable plans, Forms 1099, and all other tax considerations
  • Utilizes project management skills to oversee functions and projects
  • Supports RezilientKidz as a separate organization and ensures that the 501C3 is protected for both entities
Accounts Receivable
  • Provides general oversight for Accounts Receivable including invoicing; statement preparation; credit management; aging report; and allowance for doubtful accounts
Royalties:
  • Provides general oversight for royalty accounting functions including statement preparation, income and expense tracking and system integrity
Fixed Assets:
  • Is responsible for oversight of fixed asset accounting according to GAAP
  • Is responsible for the coordination of the annual capital budget. Monitors actual results against the budget and performs follow up with other ministry departments
Inventory:
  • Directs and oversees activities related to proper accounting of all inventory according to GAAP. Works with Ministry Procurement Services and other ministry departments regarding transactions and systems impacting inventory
Insurance & Risk Management:
  • Is responsible for ensuring that potential risks to the ministry are appropriately identified, assessed, and minimized, including chairing of quarterly risk steering committee meetings
  • Oversees the filing and follow up of insurance claims
  • Produces schedules for insurance policies and related claims and evaluates recommendations related to Workers Compensation coverage, claims, and related reporting
  • Oversees the preparation of insurance applications and other information to secure appropriate insurance coverage
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Managerial Breadth/Scope of Job:
  • Manages a staff of managers and other professional staff and sets an atmosphere of learning and personal improvement
  • Responsible for performance development of staff
  • Has hiring responsibilities

Knowledge/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; MBA and/or CPA preferred
  • Requires 7-10 years related experience in Accounting/Finance
  • Previous supervisory experience required (manager level)
  • Previous experience in a non-profit environment desired
  • Thorough understanding of FOF mission, philosophy, values, and objectives

Salary Range: $89,436 to $102,957/yr
