Follett has a great opportunity for a Procurement Lead to join our Team!

The Procurement Lead will be responsible for aggregating all tactical procurement purchasing with the Sourcing & Product Development teams to develop supplier partnerships, while ensuring that Follett Products maintain the highest quality parts at the best cost. Accountable for the efficient and effective material control of purchase materials from planning through buying, expediting, inspection, transport, and receipt. The role is a working Lead role and is expected to facilitate and lead procurement activities with Buyers, actively engage suppliers and resolve performance issues. 

Position Details:

· Responsible for planning, developing, and buying materials, parts, supplies and equipment in a timely and cost-effective manner while maintaining appropriate quality standards and specifications.

· Lead the buying activity with the ability to coach, develop and mentor.

· Analyze material status reports and communicate risks and problem areas.

· Lead timely resolution of escalated supplier issues.

· Maintain Commercial interface with Suppliers.

· Manage ramp in/ramp out of materials 

· Adhere to purchasing policy, procedures, and processes.

· Create, develop, and implement procurement strategy and policies.

· Work with Operations to forecast inventory levels of purchased products and establish process/procedures to initiate MRP driven activity.

· Analyze trends in vendor pricing and sales activity to determine the correct timing of purchases.

· Oversee logistics requirements of purchase products.

· Collaborate with purchasing/buyers to ensure delivery standards are met and expedited purchases.

· Lead process in discussing defective, damaged goods with Quality personnel, users, vendors, to determine the source of error, taking corrective action.

· Lead process improvements to reduce inventory accuracy issues 

· Conduct month end activities

· Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:  

· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain/Operations Management or Business, or equivalent experience. Professional Certifications: ISM CPM and/or APICS CPIM preferred.

· 10 years work experience related to procurement, manufacturing and importing with a proven track record of purchasing a variety of materials, supplies and services.

· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to confront tough issues in a productive manner, creating buy-in for cross functional teams and leadership.

· Able to initiate and evaluate RFQ’s and negotiate price, delivery, tooling, quality, and service.

· A background in implementing and maintaining metrics/KPI’s and assessments to drive performance. 

· Having the willingness to be flexible – adapting to new paths.

· Ability to manage multiple projects.

· Knowledge of strategic sourcing strategies and procurement work processes and solutions.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills.

· Proficiency using Microsoft Office Professional Products. Exposure to Avanté (or similar) ERP system preferred.

· Experience working with international suppliers.

· Ability to travel 10% of the time.
