Shipping Supervisor - 1st Shift

Our customers count on us to help their designers and engineers create best in class products, and we commit the industry’s best people and products to do what’s right for our customers – whatever it takes.  You can help us succeed in doing this by becoming a team member at Acument Global Technologies’ Belvidere location.  Shipping Supervisor Position Summary   This role supervises shipping, receiving, packing, and material handling for the facility.  Position Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:   • Plans, directs, coordinates, trains, and supervises the material handling, packing and warehousing departments. • Ships all products by freight lines selected on the basis of costs and delivery requirements. • Generates daily shipping requirements list and tracks shipments and activity notices to determine quantities to be shipped. • Calls carriers for freight pick-ups, quotes and late shipment follow-up. • Uses and maintains special instructions and shipping information for customer shipments when required. • Monitors and reports KPI data necessary for tracking productivity/performance. • Monitors scrap criteria.  Schedules scrap pick-up and scrap trailer delivery. • Develops procedures to effectively communicate warehouse customer requirements and ensures error free on-time deliveries. • Provides material handlers the part numbers and locations of finished goods to be pulled from stock to be shipped to ensure first in first out. • Coordinates the shipping of parts and raw materials for outside processing. • Other duties as assigned by the Manager. Qualifications-Education/Experience   Required:   • High school diploma or GED • At least 3 years shipping, receiving, warehousing and logistics experience • At least 1 year supervisory experience • Experience with shipping systems and advance shipping notices • Strong leadership and communication skills • Proficient Office Suite skills Preferred:   • Education beyond high school diploma or GED • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma training or experience • Previous QAD or AS400 experience
