Corporate Purchasing Manager

The goal of the Corporate Purchasing Manager is to get the highest quality goods and services at the lowest prices. This position must work VERY close with the Marketing Manager. The Corporate Purchasing Manager will locate and purchase product as selected by the Marketing Manager, (and other authorized leadership in the company), at the most profitable price point. The Purchasing Manager also maintains vendor relationships, identifying and evaluating all potential suppliers and works with authorized leadership in the company on vendor contracts.

Education
• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
• At least 10 years purchasing experience with 3 of the 10 in convenience store purchasing
• Continue education through seminars, forums, courses
• Well versed with computer skills including iPad, E-mail, Excel, Word, and texting
Physical
• Able to maintain extended periods of sitting, standing, reaching, bending
• Able to lift/move 50lbs
• Clarity of vision near/ far distances and acceptable level of hearing
Travel
• Maintain a valid drivers license – comply with Company Fleet Policy

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Builds and develops relationships with key suppliers negotiating for goods and services with the best possible price and service guarantee
• Manages vendor relationships and builds effective partnerships
• Develops and finds new supply sources where vendors are inadequate
• Collaborates with marketing planning and developing a strategy to enable the company to sell a range of products that deliver sales and profit targets
• Integrates the sales strategy into the overall Company business plans, budgets, forecasts and performance targets and contributes to overall Food Bag strategic planning.
• Forecasts levels of demand for services and products to meet the business needs and keeps a constant check on stock levels to maximize business efficiency
• Conducts research to ascertain the best supplier of products in terms of value, delivery schedule and quality
• Acts as a liaison between suppliers, manufacturers and relevant internal departments
• Negotiates contracts, (for leaderships approval) and monitors their progress - checking the quality of products and services provided
• Keeps contract files and uses them as reference for the future
• Forecasts price trends and their impact on future activities
• Gives presentations about market analysis and possible growth
• Develops the companies purchasing strategy
• Produces reports and statistics using computer software
• Ensures suppliers are aware of business objectives
• Attends meetings and trade conferences
• Trains and supervises the work of staff members
