Compensation: $68,800.00 - $72,000/salary


Overview:

The Visual Storyteller at Food Bank of the Rockies breathes life into our mission through captivating video stories and stunning photography. You'll craft short-form video content, high-quality explainer videos showcasing our programs, and regularly update b-roll packages for our distribution centers. Plus, you'll create promotional videos for campaigns and heartwarming photo stories highlighting our impact in the community and our clients' stories. In addition to your creative work, you'll manage independent vendors for event coverage and coordinate logistics. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Plan, produce, shoot, and edit compelling video content to help promote Food Bank of the Rockies’ mission.
  • Capture interviews with Food Bank of the Rockies’ staff, volunteers, clients, partners, and more for video productions.
  • Collaborate with the Creative Director to align video graphics and messaging with brand guidelines.
  • Develop scripts for video projects as necessary with input from the Senior Storyteller, ensuring a compelling and clear narrative.
  • Optimize videos as necessary for distribution across multiple platforms.
  • Collaborate with social media manager on short video content to be distributed on social media.
  • Capture high-resolution editorial photography with a focus on compelling portraits and action shots with a focus on composition to be used in printed materials and online.
  • Collaborate with other departments and regional distribution centers to support their visual (photo/video) needs.
  • Work with vendors to produce special video projects as needed, while coordinating location and interview scheduling and any other logistics.
  • Travel approximately 2 times per year each to our Western Slope and Wyoming locations to capture unique video and photography content for each respective region.
  • Travel locally up to two hours each way regularly to capture fresh content across our region.
  • Work with Senior Storyteller to manage vendors as needed in regional locations.
  • Organize and maintain photo and video assets using our digital asset management system, Canto.
  • Perform any other job-relevant duties needed to help drive Food Bank of the Rockies’ vision, mission, and values.
  • Handle confidential information with discretion and care, ensuring the privacy and respect of employees, volunteers, partners, donors, or others
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a video and photo storyteller with a strong portfolio showcasing a variety of previous work.
  • Expertise in DSLR cameras (multi-camera shoots utilizing GoPros, iPhones, and DSLRs), filming, lighting, audio, and photo and video editing principles.
  • Strong storytelling and scriptwriting skills.
  • Must have extensive experience using Adobe Creative Suite (needs to be an Adobe Premiere Pro and Photoshop expert) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Comfortable editing in a PC environment



Preferred Qualifications:

  • Drone flying/recording experience
  • Experience using Asana
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
  • After Effects and animation/graphics experience a plus



Expected Hours of Work:


This is a full-time, exempt position. Work schedules may occasionally require evenings and Saturdays. Frequent travel to our food distribution and partner sites is required, as well as occasional travel to Western Slope and Wyoming locations. A flexible work schedule is available with the option to work remotely from Colorado. In-person work is required a minimum of 3 days per week at our 45th Ave Distribution Center in Denver, CO, or more often based on project needs.
