Warehouse Associate
Position Summary:
The Warehouse Associate will coordinate the day-to-day activities of the warehouse. Responsibilities include receiving and documenting of donated food, inventory and storage, equipment, and facility maintenance. You will also work with partner agency coordinators for the smooth distribution of food to our partner agencies. The warehouse associate will work closely with volunteers who pack food in the warehouse as well as volunteers that pick up the Food 4 bags during the school year. This position will work closely with the Food Acquisitions Manager, Partner Agency Coordinators, volunteer coordinator, and the Food Program Administrator. This is a full-time position reporting to the Operations Manager.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Manages warehouse inventory and maintains database of food & supplies.
- Operates forklift and pallet jack as needed. Certification preferred.
- Responsible for receiving and documenting donated food and completing proper forms and reports.
- Detects and eliminates safety hazards ensuring warehouse is accessible and safe for employees, visitors and volunteers.
- Assist donors and volunteers loading and unloading food from/into their cars.
- Ensures that housekeeping and food storage regulations are maintained.
- Collaborates with the team to identify ways to improve department effectiveness; implements viable ideas.
- Assist with food routes as needed and the delivery and exchange of food drive bins during the Summer and holidays.
· Maintain Food 4 Kids pantry inventory and purchase items as needed and create weekly menus. This will be the responsibility of the warehouse associate. (moved from volunteer coordinator duties)

· Performs other related duties as directed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- 2-5 years of warehouse operations and inventory management experience
- Ability to communicate in Spanish is preferred but not required.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Thorough understanding of warehouse policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
- Good analytical skills and ability to make sound judgments relative to inventory.
- Strong working knowledge of Excel.
- Must have a valid CA driver’s license and provide a current DMV printout
Qualifications and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least two or more years of work experience in a warehouse required.
- Thorough understanding of warehouse procedures and regulations.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude, self-motivation, and has the ability to interact with a diverse group

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Ability to continually move around the warehouse.
