Program Overview:

Internship positions are available for a broad range of challenging assignments. Our Summer Internship Program provides an opportunity to learn more about the complex supermarket industry. Internship participants will have the ability to develop the leadership skills and business knowledge they will need to begin their career. This internship experience is an opportunity to work on projects that are meaningful and hands-on. Throughout the summer, interns will work in a team environment designed to promote and reward individuality, innovation, leadership and strong business results. 

Location Details: 

• Salisbury, NC Food Lion Corporate office 

Program Details: 

• 12-Week paid summer internship 

• Community service opportunities supporting Food Lion Feeds 

• Career development and professional enhancement via learning activities 

• Lunch & Learn sessions with business leaders 

• End of program presentation to business leaders 

Program Qualifications:

• Minimum GPA 3.0 is required ***All applicants are expected to provide a copy of their transcript with their resume showing they meet this requirement**** 

• Permanent employment authorization/ US citizenship 

• Enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program when applying

• Proficient in Microsoft Office

Projects may fall under any of the following areas: Strategy & Innovation, Analytics, Consumer Insights, and Business development 

Internship Key Dates: 

• Postings Early Fall 

• Interview and Selection – November- December 

• Internship dates: May 31, 2024 through August 2, 2024

• Prefer degree with concentration in Business Management, Retail Management, Supply-Chain Management, or Marketing

• Fully understand the Food Lion strategy of Easy, Fresh, and Affordable. You Can Count on Food Lion Every Day.  

• Understand the concept of a selling organization, and the role that Category Management plays in bringing our strategy to life in our stores. 

• Become fully versed in Category Management 

• Fundamental Understanding of the 4 P's, and how we execute them to deliver our overall company strategy
