Electrical Engineer (Custom Machinery / Equipment)
Direct hire position with a private manufacturer that globally sells custom designed large machinery and equipment, and is a well known established company in the Dayton area.
LOCATION: Piqua (no remote available) - north of Dayton 30 minutes
OVERVIEW:
This position focuses on designing, programming, and troubleshooting systems of electrical and hydraulic controls for custom designed machinery having hydraulics, presses, compression, mixing, molding, polymers, drying, extraction, and other manufacturing processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Designs large electrical panels for machinery with arrangements of linkage of conductors, relays, PLC’s, flow valves and components of electrical, electronic, and hydraulic devices
• Diagrams logic system for functions such as sequence and timing control
• Designs interface system including pushbuttons, switches, and HMI displays
• Develops Bill of Materials (BOMs)
• Confers with Assembly team (electrical Assemblers and Wirers) to resolve problems regarding building of control systems
• Reviews schematics and control configurations with customers’ representatives
• Observes operation during trial run of programmed machine and equipment operation to
verify that electrical signals in system conform to specifications
• Designs controls for optimizing operator interface with existing plant control systems
• Debugs control issues such as hydraulic and electrical faults
• Reviews projects with Project Manager to discuss scope of supply and functional
specifications of equipment
REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
• Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD design software
• Proficiency in reading electrical and hydraulic schematics
• Knowledgeable in Ladder logic, HMI displays, relays, and PLC programming
• Travel is occasional, up to a week at a time, less than 15% total (nationwide and international)
SALARY: $90,000 - $120,000 plus full benefits
