When I started worked with this client just over a year ago, they had about 15 employees, now they have 25 and by the end of this year, they will be close to 40. They are in the industrial gases space, have procured a lot of funding and interest in the technology they are developing and are in the process of forming an engineering and science team towards the commercialization of their technology with the goal of delivering a commercially viable product by the end of this year.
Job Overview:
This role is an integral position for this company as they continue the development of their technology. To this point, they have put together some crude prototypes in order to be able to prove out the viability of their technology, now they are building prototypes for the purposes of commercialization. This person's focus will be on electrodes and ion conductors and they need someone who is a) very experienced in material properties and chemical compositions, crystal structure and thermal stability of these materials as well as b) someone who has experience with larger scale (above 25 square cm) electrode assemblies.
Minimum Requirements:
B.S. degree in engineering (ideally materials engineering or materials science)
Must have a minimum of 3 years of post-college industry experience
Must have built and/or operated low or high temperature electrolyzer or fuel cell stacks bigger than 25 cm2 in size
Strong preference for someone who has worked on solid oxide or other high temperature technologies at a major manufacturer of electrolyzer or fuel cell systems
Must have experience in synthesis, characterization, and testing of materials
Previous startup company experience is a huge plus
