Job Description
An established Wholesale Manufacturer of branded and licensed children's apparel in NYC is looking to fill a Product Development Manager position. They are open to hiring people someone that either has children's apparel experience or character licensed experience. The Product Development Manager will play a pivotal role in bringing licensed character clothing lines from concept to market by collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution and seamless coordination of projects.
Project Planning and Execution:
- Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining key tasks, timelines, and resource requirements.
- Lead cross-functional teams to ensure the successful execution of project deliverables.
Quality Control:
- Establish and enforce quality standards for all licensed apparel projects.
- Conduct regular inspections and work closely with suppliers to address any quality concerns.
Cross-functional Collaboration:
- Foster collaboration across design, sourcing, production, and marketing teams to ensure project alignment.
- Act as the central point of contact for all license PD project-related communication.
Product Development Strategy:
- Develop and execute the product development strategy for children's licensed apparel.
- Work closely with the design and production team to translate designs in the best quality within a price sensitive business.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Merchandising, Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience (8 years) in product development, with a focus on children's apparel and/or character licensed products.
- Strong understanding of licensing agreements, intellectual property, and brand representation.
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
- Familiarity with global sourcing and production processes.
