What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Manager position at Food Management Search?
Our client is looking to hire a Production Manager to oversee all plant production, materials, equipment, and tools to ensure efficiency is maintained and projects remain on schedule for the assembly of a wide range of industrial blower and compressor packages. The Production Manager will conduct meetings with floor personnel to ensure work is properly delegated and deadlines are met, maintain the ability to prioritize projects, and ensure they remain on schedule. In addition, they will ensure safety problems that arise are addressed and all required paperwork is completed. They will ensure shop equipment is being tracked, maintained, and available as required, and assist with resolving assembly issues as required. The Production Manager will work closely with the Order Processing Manager and Supply Chain Manager in the planning and communication of daily plant activities.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads the direction of production and assembly activities.
- Maintains and updates manufacturing equipment information and repair.
- Leads the planning and coordination of production jobs and projects.
- Participates in plant safety, health, and environmental programs.
- Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings.
- Ability to assist with detailed reports as well as good verbal communication.
- Assist with the overall total cost estimate for the work to be performed: labor, material, and outside services.
- Manage the status of work control and backlog for work order submission to work order completion. Status may include: waiting for planning, waiting for parts, ready to schedule, scheduled, etc.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors degree in Business, Engineering or related field required; Masters degree preferred.
- 5-7 years experience in the capital equipment manufacturing business
- 3 - 5 of experience as a supervisor, manager, or similar relevant position required.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, ERP knowledge
