Who We Are Looking For:
Fooda is adding a Staff Accountant to our growing Finance and Accounting Team. The ideal candidate for this position is a great analytical problem solver, a clear communicator, and has 2 years of professional experience between public and private firms. The Staff Accountant is super organized, possesses technical accounting and reporting skills, and has experience working in a high growth environment. This person will build upon and improve current processes in order to streamline and implement new systems and controls. The ideal candidate must demonstrate high energy and passion for their work and want to be challenged every day.
What You Will Be Doing:
The Fooda Finance and Accounting Team members all wear lots of different hats and we'll expect whoever joins our team to do the same. Roles and responsibilities will include, but won't be limited to the following:
- Participate in monthly close including: preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations as well as consolidation and reporting for both internal team members and upper management
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, annual and ad hoc reporting to Vice President of Finance as well as other stakeholders
- Responsible for account areas including: cash, fixed assets, prepayments, and payroll accounting
- Hold responsibility for audit requests such as balance sheet reconciliation system documentation and addressing follow-up questions both internally and externally
- Provide assistance to the VP of Finance in analyzing and interpreting financial data and reports
- Assist in improving the accounting and financial reporting function by evaluating processes and implementing changes by leveraging existing systems and technologies
- Collaborate with FP&A team on monthly financial variance analysis
- Complete and support special projects aimed at improving Fooda’s operational efficiency and reporting across our existing markets in the United States.
What You Should Already Have:
- Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Accounting
- Public accounting experience is a plus
- Excellent skills in MS Word and Excel
- Experience with NetSuite a plus
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must have a strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Must be able to exercise discretion and maintain confidential/sensitive information
- Must be able to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and multi-task
