Job Posting for Assistant Athletic Trainer at Foothills Sports Medicine Physical Therapy
Overview
Administers athletic training services to serve as the Assistant Athletic Trainer at Paradise Valley Community College under a Head Athletic Trainer. These services include but are not limited to injury prevention programs, athletic consults, injury assessment, treatment, and case management of injured athletes undergoing rehabilitation. This is a part time position and will be 25 hours a week.
Qualifications
Completion of a CAATE approved athletic training education program or educational equivalent required.
Certified by the Board of Certification of the National Athletic Trainers Association required.
Licensed by the Arizona Board of Athletic Training required.
Valid & current driver’s license.
Efficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Programs (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
Post-certification Master’s degree in athletic training or related field preferred.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a certified athletic trainer is preferred.
Responsibilities
Assist the Head Athletic Trainer in providing medical care for all athletes including physical examinations, physician referrals, evaluation, prevention and rehabilitation of athletic injuries.
Evaluate injuries and develop treatment and exercise plans within the scope of practice. Re-evaluate treatment plans as needed to ensure maximum patient benefit.
Ancillary duties may include, but are not limited to, tending to wound care dressings, taking vital signs, concussion management, taping modalities, and chart progressions for appropriate patients.
Implement individualized therapeutic interventions and monitor responses to therapy to ensure athlete safety.
Conduct injury screening clinics, educational programs, and workshops to promote safety and injury prevention.
Educate athletes, families, and coaches regarding injuries, risk factor modification, and exercise programs.
Document patient treatment according to professional and regulatory standards.
