Front Desk Receptionist
We are looking for an outgoing and dog-loving individual to join our team at For the Love of Dogs! This Receptionist role is running all "front of house" operations in the morning and requires you to maintain high and happy energy and premium customer service.
Part time position available for mornings of Monday-Friday, 7:45am-12:15pm. Pay starts at $13.50 per hour.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Front Space:
- Greet everyone that walks into For the Love of Dogs in a friendly, welcoming manner
- Answer phone calls and direct potential clients to getting started with our services
- Maintain a clean and organized front desk and reception area
- Sell services and products to clients and potential clients in a non-pushy way
- Accept and manage payments via our POS system, Square.
- Anticipate client's needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all pet parents
- Address basic questions about services, products, add-ons, and scheduling
Day Camp:
- Check dogs in and out for Day Camp & keep track of this in our system
- Assist with potty breaks - done on leash in the surrounding neighborhood
- Assist with dog-dog introductions with our Day Camp Group Leaders to ensure a successful and positive greeting
- Assist with setting up appropriate spaces for the dogs for nap time and breaks
Grooming:
- Check dogs in and out for Grooming services & keep track of this in our system
- Maintain a clean tub/wash room for our Groomer between baths
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Positive an upbeat attitude
- Dog & people lover - it is important to not only love dogs, but their people too!
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Be team-oriented, collaborative, and proactive
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multi-task in a high-paced environment - be able to greet all clients who are waiting to be checked in
- Must have a friendly and professional phone and email etiquette
- Be flexible and willing to learn new skills. This role is integral in growing the business alongside our Admin Assistant.
- Not afraid to jump in whenever and wherever is needed. Committed to the success of the team and not just the individual role.
Education and Experience:
- 1-2 years in customer service or dog-related role
- Excellent customer service skills
- Functional computer & software skills required
