What are the responsibilities and job description for the General Foreman position at Forbes Bros Ltd.?
FB Connect is currently looking for an experienced General Forman to support our operations in Utah, Nevada and Arizona.
Working Onsite Foreman leading and working onsite with 2-6 company employees subcontractors during 4 week projects ranging in contract amounts of $80K to $300K in size. Proficient in reading, understanding, and scaling construction drawing. Supervise the daily safety paperwork tailboards, dig plans and PPE to meet company safety programs. Ability to layout and startup projects based off dimensions shown on construction drawings. Perform material takeoffs, locate suppliers, get quotes and pickup or schedule material delivery to site. Locate subcontractors local to project locations, request bids on $1K to $10K portions of the project and supervise hired subcontractors on completing work properly. Recognize change order items and accurately tabulate labor, materials, and equipment costs to quickly receive approval to continue without slowing down work progress. Ability to plan ahead of work to have material, supplies, equipment and inspections in place to avoid slow downs or stoppages. Organizing and scheduling the labor, materials, and equipment with be the main responsibility of this position with hands on labor required daily. Taking progress pictures and creating daily reports at the end of the day is a required task.

- Familiar and able to use microsoft word/exel/outlook and view PDF documents
Trade Skills Required
Ability to perform and or supervise the following tasks- Layout asphalt, concrete parking lot and curbing to be demoed and use wet saws and equipment to remove demoed materials. Use a Laser Level to determine grades, curb and slab heights. Operate skidsteer, miniex and forklifts to excavate trenching and lift equipment onto slabs with forklift. Form and pour 16' X 36' concrete slabs, parking lot curbing and equipment protection bollards. Be familiar with the basics of electrical work to verify company electricians or subcontractor in laying out equipment opening and ensuring the electrical conduit is placed in the correct location. Driving a ¾" ton truck and pulling a trailer between sites will be required. A commercial drivers license or ability to obtain the license is required to pull the trailer.
Trade Skills preferred
Proficiency in concrete forming/finishing and equipment operation for excavation and setting equipment preferred or willingness to become proficient. Electrical experience or Journeyman License would helpful but not required.
