GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Warehouse Laborers are warehouse material handlers that perform the material movement utilizing a bridge crane and/or forklift.
This position reports directly to the Distribution Supervisor. PRIMARY DUTIES: • Performs the unloading/loading of trucks, stocking and transferring of material with the use of a dual hoist bridge crane and/or standard forklift • Successfully perform tasks with the use of bridge cranes that are 10–20-ton capacity • Successfully perform tasks with the use of forklifts that are 5k-8k capacity • Successfully perform tasks with the use of propane sit down lifts • Perform daily inspection of crane, pendulum control unit, wire ropes and other accessory equipment. • Immediately report all deficiencies found and unusual noises and/or difficulties in operation of the equipment. • Identify material to be placed into production, verifying correct tag and heat numbers.
Determine weight of material and utilize crane with the appropriate capacity. • Assist and/or direct riggers in properly securing material on crane before moving material. • Always be ware of activity/co-workers in the area to ensure the safety of all. Advise all co-workers in the area before movement of material on overhead crane.

- Follow all company policy procedures and be vigilant in watching for potential risks in the area and notify management of deficiencies identified. • Attend all training and safety meetings as directed. • Perform daily housekeeping and organization of assigned areas • Assist with stock checks and physical counts as directed. • Perform other tasks as directed.
- Assist in training co-workers as requested. SKILLS: • High level of attention to detail. • Knowledge of crane capacities, accessory equipment, rigging and ability to move large sized and/or unusually shaped steel plate in a safe manner. • Ability to calculate weights of material.
- Strong verbal communication skills. EXPERIENCE: At least 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with safe work practices, and procedures. Salary : $30,800 - $39,000
