Foremost Fabricators, a division of Patrick Industries, is now seeking machine operators to join our team! We are a fabricator of aluminum sheet metal and galvanized steel, FRP coil and sheet for the RV manufacturing industry.
Machine Operator Job Summary: will operate a machine to bend, shape, cut, and manipulate sheet metal and metal plates. Operating a metal forming line or press while keeping the machined parts within the specifications determined by Customers, or operating simple machines individually or with a partner with minimal to no oversight.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Championing safety polices through example, wearing all required protective equipment to maintain a safe work environment – steel toe/safety toed shoes are required on production floor.
- Operates a press brake to manufacture parts for the RV industry, and other components from sheet metal.
- Prepares, sets up, and adjusts press brake as required by product plans and production schedules.
- Ensures that there are sufficient raw materials available.
- Measures and aligns materials to be used.
- Inspects products, evaluating finished pieces for compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Performs routine maintenance inspections on the press brake.
- Completing paperwork to verify information against order entry
- Possess strong commitment to team environment dynamics (break press operated with 2 team members).
- Maintains a clean work area.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to safely and effectively operate and learn to operate press brake controls.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- · Needs ability to read a print and read fractions/decimals
- · Ability to read, interpret, and follow product plans.
- Basic computer and math skills.
- Work in a fluid environment – steady paced, efficiency driven, when slower; focusing on long term projects or seeking out areas of opportunity.
- Must be able to read a tape measure
- Must be able to read, write and write English
- Have good attendance.
Education and Experience:
- equivalent job experience required.
- At least one year of experience in metal fabrication or machine operation preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Physically able to operate the press brake.
- Prolonged periods of standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, twisting, kneeling, occasionally repetitive motions, and carrying materials.
- Must be able to lift 25lbs at a time, and push 75lbs.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 58 per week
