Summary:
The Economic Support Specialist determines the eligibility and maintains the caseloads for economic support program by following state and/or tribal regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Determines eligibility and maintains case management for Badger Care, Food Share Wisconsin Shares Child Care Subsidy Programs and any other economic support programs.
  • Contacts individual agencies to verify eligibility data to clarify discrepancies or gaps in information and make referrals as necessary.
  • Maintains caseload by scanning and securing the necessary case documents to ensure specific program guidelines are met.
  • Work closely with the FoodShare Employment & Training Case Worker and Child Care Certification Worker on referrals and coordination.
  • Completes child care authorization and monitors Child Care Subsidy cases for compliance requirements for the State programs.
  • Reviews, assists and approves Family Services Emergency Assistance applicants.
Requirements (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):
  • Associates Degree in human services or related field preferred.
  • Must have the Wisconsin State IM Maintenance Worker Certificate or be able to obtain it within a year of employment.
  • Maintains the following continuing educational training requirements for State IM Program: annual completion of Civil Rights, one Cultural Competency, at least one annual refresher and 12 hours of professional development per year.
  • Must successfully pass all applicable background checks and drug screens
