What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Billing Specialist position at Forest Hills Podiatric Medical Care?
We are looking for a team player for our 1 practitioner office.
Salary is negotiable, and it will be based on experience.
-A minimum of 3 years of medical billing experience (Podiatric Billing Preferred)
- Experience with payment posting from both insurance carriers and patients
- Scrubbing of all claims for potential errors from the clearinghouse and/or insurance carriers
- Working knowledge and understanding of CPT Codes, HCPCS Codes, ICD-10 coding and modifiers
- Address all insurance denials and aggressively pursue the necessary actions for each denial
- Perform monthly patient billing and be available to answer patient questions as they arise
- Experience with MACRA/MIPS billing/submission
- Verification of patient's insurance benefits with relation to their podiatric care
- Maintain accuracy and address all credentialing concerns for the office and provider
- Provide assistance with, but not limited to, answering calls, scheduling appointments and other entry level duties
- Be available to the doctor regarding necessary updates, insurance trends and provide monthly reports
- Ability to handle all medical records requests as they are received in a timely manner

Pay: $19.00 - $25.00 per hour

Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- ICD-10: 3 years (Required)
