Tree Ground Crew/Climbers/Arborist
Forest Mulchers Corporation is seeking Tree Crew members to join our team crew in Right of Way (ROW) maintenance including tree and brush removal, row reclamation, row mowing, side trimming, land clearing, vegetation maintenance and control in the Mid-Atlantic region with opportunities to grow their careers with our rock-solid company.
Job Requirements:
- Assists Arborists with tree removals, trimming, pruning and debris disposal
- Safeguards employees and public from hazards in and around the work area, staying in frequent voice communications with co-workers
- Safely uses tools and equipment to carry out debris removal tasks
- Works from the ground using handsaw/chainsaw, chippers and pole saw
- Carries out all maintenance duties as assigned by the Supervisor
- Learns techniques and the proper usage of tools from senior or more experienced crew members
- Ensures all sites are kept clean and free of hazards
- Keeps trucks and other equipment in a neat and orderly fashion. Reports any needs for repairs to trucks or equipment to crew leader
- Inspects equipment and tools and performs repairs or maintenance if needed
- Uses the appropriate PPE gear while observing all relevant safety protocols
- Reports any issues or safety hazards to the Supervisor
- Always adheres to company and environmental regulations
Must be able to demonstrate skills during interview process
Qualifications:
- Must be able to travel out of town weekly, year round
- Must be able to lift 75-100 pounds
- Must be able to wear and utilize company provided PPE
- Must be able to safely operate equipment
- Must be able to operate all tools required on job site, or have the ability to learn to operate them
- Must be able to withstand exposure to elements throughout the year (heat, cold, rain, and other weather conditions)
- Must be able to verbally communicate with other crew members and fully understand instructions and information
- Must possess a valid driver's license or reliable transportation to get to and from work
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US
- MUST be drug free and pass all drug and alcohol screens as required by Company policy required by DOT regulations
Preferred:
- Previous experience in tree removal / tree care industry
- DOT compliance/knowledge

- Lynchburg, VA: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
Experience:
- Tree care: 1 year (Preferred)
- Tree Trimmers & Arborists: 1 year (Preferred)
License/Certification:
- Driver's License (Preferred)
- CDL (Preferred)
