Job Title: Planning & Procurement Agent
We are currently seeking a Planning & Procurement Agent to join the Forge Biologics team. In this role, the Planner/Procurement Agent will directly contribute to the strategic, operational, and supply chain activities required to support our cGMP manufacturing programs and vision. This role will assist in the development and review of all short-term schedules, long term forecasts, and generated purchasing requirements, to support our internal and external gene therapy programs.
The Planner/Procurement Agent will support the MRP functions, within all appropriate Planning Systems and partner with internal departments, to assure that all resources are optimized. This role will utilize Continuous improvement tools and strategies, in order to support manufacturing and procurement, across all value streams. The Planner/Procurement Agent will assist with the creation, planning, and fulfillment of new client forecasts and weekly production plans.
Responsibilities:
- Review and generate business documents, such as production schedules, work orders, purchase orders or staffing tables, to determine materials requirements or sourcing priorities
- Assist in the maintenance and creation of Master Data, for Materials, Processes, and all MRP relevant variables.
- Support and document internal audits of Planning information and identify necessary follow ups.
- Extract and upload information between Planning systems, to assure real time accuracy. (Smartsheets, NetSuite, etc)
- Maintain cross functional partnerships with Sales, Finance, Procurement, Marketing, and site wide Operations group.
- Collect appropriate data for the creation of KPI reports and subsequent analysis, to identify areas of opportunity within the business.
- Collaborate with the Operations Planner, to understand and identify potential capacity constraints and work with the manufacturing teams to maximize efficiencies.
- Assists and coordinates review of all asset protocols, reports, records, and procedures to assure compliance and completeness.
- Assist in daily activities to support procurement processes. Includes but is not exclusive to: executing purchase orders with suppliers, establishing lines of communication with new and existing suppliers, contacting suppliers to obtain price/lead time on products and follow ups on all open orders, following up on late deliveries and backordered items, communicating with internal teams on order status
- Assist in the coordination with suppliers to obtain up-to-date lead-times and delivery dates.
- Attend and set-up weekly or Bi-weekly open order meetings with critical suppliers
- Assist with vendor compliance to performance metrics and pursue all avenues to acquire cGMP compliant products.
- Work with Operations Planner and Procurement Specialist to ensure proper amount of products are purchased to support operations
- Assist in the development of recurring/blanket orders for repetitious/long-lead time products to ensure continuous supply

Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in biopharmaceutical manufacturing or regulated supply chain activities preferred
- Must be self-motivating, organized and proactive
- Strong technical aptitude including demonstrated experience in applying scientific reasoning to solve complex problems.
- Ability to work hours necessary to support production and/or product transfer activities
- Computers and Electronics - Knowledge of computer hardware and software, including supply chain and inventory applications.
- SAP/Netsuite experience desired.

Reporting Outline:
- This position reports to the Director of Supply Chain & Facilities
- Travel on an infrequent basis is required (<5%) to support job responsibilities and commitments.
