Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Dog Trainer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in dog training, with a strong focus on providing a safe and nurturing environment for our canine companions. As a Dog Trainer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the behavior and personalities of our dogs, ensuring they grow into well-adjusted and well-behaved members of society.
Duties:
- Provide expert dog training services to clients, using positive reinforcement techniques and creating customized training plans.
- Conduct dog training sessions in a variety of settings, including in-home, group classes, and kennel environments.
- Develop strong relationships with clients, offering guidance on dog care, behavior modification, and nutrition.
- Utilize knowledge of animal behavior and learning theory to address specific behavioral issues and achieve training goals.
- Assist with dog handling and restraint as necessary.
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with the latest dog training techniques and best practices.
- Maintain accurate records of training sessions, including client feedback and progress notes.
- Collaborate with other team members, including veterinarians and veterinary technicians, to ensure comprehensive care for our canine clients.
Skills:
- Experience in dog training and animal handling.
- Strong understanding of animal behavior and learning theory.
- Ability to work with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments.
- Knowledge of pet grooming and veterinary care.
- Experience with animal restraint techniques.
- Familiarity with veterinary assistant and veterinary technician roles.
- Experience with equine animals, a plus.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A strong commitment to animal welfare and the humane treatment of animals.

Pay: $16.47 - $18.46 per hour
