Position Summary: Produce parts from metal, plastic and other materials using a press brake, a computer numerically controlled piece of equipment that makes precision bends, punches, or cuts into materials per company workmanship standards. Looking for First and Second Shift operators. First Shift is Monday - Thursday 6:00 am -4:30 pm, Second Shift is Monday - Thursday 4:30 pm to 2:00 am.
Essential Functions:
· Select proper punches and dies based on material thickness and type
· Set up tooling, load programs, and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment
· Determine if tools are undamaged and in safe condition for use
· Work in a fast paced environment with fast-changing priorities
· Keep area clean and organized
· Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task
· Work with team members to maximize productivity and efficiency
· Operate machinery used in the production process, or assist machine operators
· Consistently produce a usable product that meets the dimensional specifications of the engineering drawings
· Must maintain excellent attendance, and expect to work overtime if the need requires
· Input and maintain data in ERP computer system/Global
· Complete paperwork/job sheets required for the area
· Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
· Assist in other areas as needed
Requirements:
· High school diploma or GED
· 4-5 years experience operating and programming press brake machine; Experience with Amada equipment highly preferred
· Solid background working with sheet metal
· Knowledge of tooling and tool maintenance
· Must show aptitude for math, problem-solving and computer skills
· Ability to distinguish material types including Aluminum, Steel and Stainless Steel
· Follow written and verbal instructions
· Ability to multitask and prioritize in an effective way
· Configure bend allowance for sheet material (Not a requirement, but a plus)
· Ability to read blueprints and a knowledge of engineered specified tolerances
· Basic computer skills and the ability to read and follow instructions
· PRESS BRAKE EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. PLEASE DO NOT APPLY UNLESS YOU HAVE PRESS BRAKE EXPERIENCE, PREFERABLY AMADA, BUT NOT REQUIRED
Environmental Conditions:
· Humidity level may be elevated during summer months
· Exposure to loud noise, at times
Physical Demands:
· Ability to lift up to 60 pounds frequently
· Able to stand on your feet for at least ten hours a day
