Summary of Position:
This position serves as Forms and Supply Inc’s last contact with our customers on every order we ship via a company vehicle. Therefore it is our final opportunity to make sure each and every customer is satisfied with our customer service. The delivery driver is the company’s last chance to make sure that the pick ticket corresponds with the material pulled for delivery to the customer. The critical nature of this position requires that these responsibilities be performed in an extremely professional manner and with strict attention to detail.
All tasks related to the job will be accomplished in accordance with company business practices and in the professional manner required to maintain a solid business relationship with our valued customers.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Delivery Task and Installation:
- Drive delivery vehicle when needed. Continuous entry and exit of the truck cab, as well as the back of the truck, throughout the day.
- Match paperwork tickets to the material pulled for each and every order assigned to your specific job;
- Unbox various furniture items. (file cabinets, desks, bookcases, chairs, office component parts.)
- Load vehicle on a daily basis, with various product. Weight of product could range between 1lb – 500 lbs; anything over 150 lbs will usually require 2 or more people to work together. prepare and take with you all materials related to successful completion of installation and deliveries, to include:
¨ Maps and additional directions;
¨ Furniture and drawings;
¨ tools;
- load truck so that deliveries are accessible in conjunction with delivery schedule while protecting product and vehicle from damage;
(report any problems or inconsistencies immediately to the Ops Manager);
- Deliver furniture to customer site. Conditions of each site may vary, and can include delivering up stairs, via elevators, off loading docks.
- Communicate effectively with all customers.
- Perform daily truck inspection, to include climbing into and out of the cab, the back of the truck. This includes:
¨keeping vehicle clean from debris and trash inside the vehicle
¨performing a daily DOT inspection of the vehicle
¨properly completing appropriate forms, indicating any outstanding issues
¨immediately notifying Ops Manager of any outstanding issues;
- fill assigned vehicle with gas at the most efficient time, using designated filling stations as much as possible;
- Warehouse Task – drivers will assist warehouse manager in all aspects of warehouse organization and cleanliness, as needed:
- daily trash collection throughout warehouse
- maintain
- assist with pulling of orders for deliveries
- perform any other task as assigned by warehouse or office manager
- assist with loading returns onto skis/into boxes and properly wrapping, labeling and packaging the product to be returned to the Charlotte DC.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Normal hours are between Monday through Friday 5:00am to 5:00pm, depending on the location. Flexibility is required.
Overtime will be on short notice
Good eyesight for matching products
Good hearing for listening to customers in a potentially noisy environment
Extensive customer contact
Lifting up to 75 pounds, consistently over the course of the day
Good mobility needed to get in and out of the truck, consistently over the course of the day
Extended periods of driving time
