Job Summary : # ########### The Driver is responsible for transporting all patients / residents following Hospital / Nursing Home and departmental policies while maintaining awareness for opportunities to promote the WE CARE Philosophy.
Primary responsibility includes safe transportation of patients / residents, patient / resident belongings and maintaining patient / resident safety.
Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients / residents served and identify each patient#s requirements relative to his / her age specific needs.
Must have completed requirements to safely drive hospital vehicles. Performs all other job duties as assigned.# Complies with all departmental and hospital / nursing home policies.
Performance Expectation : # ########### Demonstrate ability to safely transport patients / residents of all ages / developmental levels to and from our facility departments and to outside facilities when needed.
Demonstrate ability to follow safety precautions during patient / resident transport to ensure the well-being of oneself, patients / residents, and other staff members (i.
e., avoids improper lifting, properly disposes of sharps, maintains infection control procedures, consistently cleans work areas on own initiative to facilitate efficient work, and avoids damaging equipment).
Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively in all interactions with patients / residents, families, visitors and employees while achieving exceptional, sustained quality patient / resident care, satisfaction, and loyalty.
Demonstrate the ability to respond to patients / residents when their condition worsens by appropriately and quickly alerting the nursing staff and patient care team members.
Demonstrates the willingness and ability to actively participate in helping achieve the objectives of the department; able to work independently as well as with a team Demonstrate the ability to be flexible with changing priorities;
able to tolerate high stress situations / mental demands and collaborate with supervisor to make decisions that are ethically and legally sound.
Qualifications : # Education / Skills######## ########### High school diploma or equivalent required, one year academic undergraduate work preferred.
