Summary: As a tool setter, your job duties include taking the measurement of reference points for setting tool setters. making adjustments to collaborate tool setters. Performing periodic quality checks on tool setting equipment for the shop. Tool setters typically have multitasking, organization, and customer service skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Set up and operate heat triggers and digital tool setters.
· Inspect workpieces for defects, and measure workpieces to determine accuracy of machine operation, using micrometers and other measuring equipment.
· Read tool sketches or job orders to determine product specifications and tooling instructions and to plan operational sequences.
· Select, install, and adjust alignment of drills, cutters, and other tools used in the process.
· Work with very sharp tools
Educational Qualification:
· Preferably previous manufacturing experience in a production environment
· Preferably 2-3 years of experience as a tool setter
· Good math skills
· Ability to work independently or little supervision
· Basic tool and measuring experience
· Need experience with all types of cutting tools used in a manufacturing shop.
