About This Role Forrester’s Principal Software Engineer is pivotal in driving the technical excellence and innovation of our front-end development team. This individual’s primary focus is on designing and implementing robust front-end architectures for our web applications, ensuring they align with our business objectives and industry standards. As a key part of Forrester’s growing product technology group, this role prioritizes delivering value through fact-based intelligence and client feedback. Job Description: You will drive solutions for our team in a few key areas: Architectural leadership. Lead the design and development of the overall front-end architecture, providing technical guidance to ensure the scalability and maintainability of our applications. Mentorship and development. Provide mentorship to the front-end development team, conducting code reviews and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Innovation. Stay on top of changes in the industry and new technologies to continually improve the front end. Good ideas can come from anywhere! Performance optimization. Implement best practices to optimize front-end performance, ensuring fast load times and an exceptional user experience for our clients. Security focus. Enforce security best practices to safeguard our applications against common web vulnerabilities, contributing to a secure and robust development environment. Communication and collaboration. Communicate and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including back-end developers, UX/UI designers, and product managers to deliver cohesive and high-quality solutions. Job Requirements: A bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or any related field. Background in designing and implementing complex front-end architectures for scalable web applications. Exceptional attention to detail in coding, communication, documentation, and testing. Significant experience engineering JavaScript-based solutions using technologies such as ReactJS, Vue.js, Node.js, AngularJS, CSS, and HTML. Experience with multiple frameworks is preferred. 8 years of relevant Experience. Experience with state management solutions, build tools, and package managers. Experience in performing code reviews, setting and applying standards, and educating others. Strong leadership and mentorship; the ability to inspire and guide a team of front-end developers. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to nontechnical stakeholders. A product mindset focused on the outcomes that benefit clients. Please note that the base salary range listed here is inclusive of all potential US geographies; base salary will be dependent on an employee’s primary working location and the employee's skills compared to the requirements of the role. At Forrester, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Base salary range: 124,973 - 226,559 For employees based in Washington State, the percentage listed here is an estimated bonus target as a percentage of base salary. Individual and company performance, as well as other eligibility criteria, will determine the actual incentive amount. Bonus target: 15% The application deadline is May 31, 2024.
