Job Description
The Senior Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis is responsible for managing all financial aspects of the consolidated companies Sales and Business Unit operating performance, including annual budgets, monthly forecasts and variance analysis to help drive and optimize performance. The position is responsible for providing insight and operational support to achieve near term budgeted sales, revenue and earnings objectives and to position the Company for longer term sustained revenue and earnings growth. The position manages a global team of financial planning and analysis professionals.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for ensuring the Company has appropriate personnel and tools required for developing and maintaining timely and accurate financial plans and forecasts.
- Develops and maintains driver based financial planning models covering the key business units and incorporating gross sales to net sales and conversion into revenue along with associated cost models
- Prepares annual budget process, partnering with business leaders to ensure accountability to meet or exceed budget expectations.
- Manages monthly sales forecasting process, reflecting actual results and trends into expected financial results, communicates expectations and influences organizational performance to exceed forecasted expectations.
- Develops analyses that provide deep insight into product revenue and pricing and white space definition and capture with the goal of achieving long-term sustained revenue growth.
- Develops standard and ad hoc financial analyses and dashboards to provide operational insight to business leaders.
- Manages the group’s sales commission policy and administration
- Develops and maintains software tools for effective and efficient budgeting and forecasting.
- Recruits, manages and develops a successful team of financial planning professionals.
Qualifications
Education and Professional Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA or MBA a plus, but not required.
- Minimum of 15 years professional experience in finance or accounting with at least five years leading a Financial Planning & Analysis team.
- Preference for a candidate with Software As A Service (SAAS) industry experience.
Technical Experience
- Strong analytical skills, including superior financial modeling, database querying and statistical analysis.
- Ability to build integrated financial models (income statement, balance sheet and cash flow).
- Experience with Excel, ERP systems and business planning/business intelligence systems.
Leadership Capability
- Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes.
- Cross-functional expertise, with experience operating in a complex organization.
- Strong project management, planning and organization skills, including ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Continuous improvement attitude; ability to seek out and implement internal or external best practices.
Executive Presence
- Strong confident skills for presenting to CEO and Board level audiences
- Able to go into detail and bridge up to summary as appropriate to the audience
- Capable of holding their own in any business or financial conversation
- Act on the CFO’s behalf

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $275,000 to $300,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus or commission tied to achieved results.
