The Coordinator of Continuing Education, Health Sciences will be a member of a diverse team who will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and administrative tasks of the continuing education offerings, including scheduling course management, scheduling, and building courses, performing course close-outs, provide student support and registration, conduct site visits, and promoting non-credit programs and courses. The coordinator may supervise instructors, collaborate with various stakeholders, assist in coordination of course resources, and other administrative duties. This position will report to the Director, Continuing Education of Health Sciences.

Education and/or Experience:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
- Two years supervisory experience
- Understand and be committed to the unique nature and role of Economic and Workforce Development at Forsyth Technical Community College.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
- Possess basic computer and keyboarding skills.
- Demonstrated data-informed, decision-making skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with a health program, occupational and trades programs, or previous Community College experience
- Documented successful experience in course planning, development, and design, including preparation of course syllabi, lesson plans, and learning evaluation.
- Demonstrated personal and professional competence in directing instructors.
- Demonstrated strong managerial skills.
Essential Duties
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Management:
- Recruit, hire, orient, mentor, and supervise part-time instructors.
- Supervise and evaluate classroom effectiveness and aid in the development of evaluative tools.
- Manage day-to-day operation of continuing education programs.
- Visit classrooms for the purpose of evaluating instructors, then discuss evaluation findings with instructors.
- Help identify sources of procedure instructional materials and equipment.
- Assist in identifying and solving instructional needs.
- Ensure that instructional facilities and equipment are adequate and meet program requirements.
- Work with instructors to improve their effectiveness through technique, media, and resources.
- Hear informal student appeals and settle disputes between students and instructors.
- Management:
- Plan, develop, schedule, and supervise occupational and other courses as assigned.
- Maintain, review, and update course descriptions and announcements for assigned continuing education courses.
- Manage course enrollment and make decisions regarding cancellations and scheduling.
- Ensure all programs adhere to Forsyth Technical Community College, State, and program policies.
- Ensure all program reports and compliance records are stored, maintained, and completed in a timely and correct manner.
- Act as a service agent to secure material and equipment needed for courses/programs, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
- Assume responsibility for being familiar with and adhering to all policies of the College.
Program/Course Development and Improvement:

- Develop and maintain standards of instructional quality.
- Recommend new course development in response to community and industry need/interest.
- Stay informed about current and emerging trends to guide program development and implementation.
- Solicit and respond to feedback from students, faculty, and industry partners to continuously enhance program offerings.
Community Engagement and Recruiting:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with community partners to identify training needs and collaboration opportunities.
- Develop and implement outreach initiatives to enhance community awareness of and participation in the assigned courses/programs.
- Collaborate with the marketing department to ensure website information is updated and accurate and prepare materials for promoting courses/programs.
- Review and assist in the development of partnership agreements with community partners.
Continuous Improvement and Teamwork:
- Implement strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of course processing and reporting.
- Foster teamwork among staff, instructors, students, and community representatives.
- Participate in team meetings, serve on committees, and utilize team meetings to contribute to the success of the college.
- Give and receive constructive feedback in a manner that focuses on the situation and not on the individual(s).
- Maintain open, clear communication with all internal and external customers, including stakeholders of specialized vocations.
- Identify and utilize public relations opportunities to promote the college and the department.
- Assume responsibility for planning and use of facilities.
