Salary Range: $55,755.00/year-$69,136.00/year

Essential Duties, Functions And Responsibilities
- Requires on-call responsibilities to where the advocate will return to FDIHB to provide emergency advocacy services, assessments, crisis intervention and assist in the emergency medical evaluation of sexually abused/assaulted children, adolescents and adults, on weekends, nights and holidays.
- Exercises critical thinking and problem-solving skills, provide these duties under the direction of the on-call provider for the FAC.
- Assists the provider and supports the patient during an emergency forensic exam and evidence collection.
- Notifies appropriate agencies such as law enforcement and social services when indicated.
- Notifies family members and friends at the request of the patient when needed for the support of the victim in reducing stress and trauma.
- Assists the provider in the documentation of the evaluation and forensic evidence collection.
- Responds to emergency and walk-in patients who present to the FAC in person or on the phone with concerns of sexual assault and child sexual abuse.
- Obtains intake information per protocol and under the direction of the provider. Assesses the immediate safety needs of victims and reports to tribal social services and law enforcement as appropriate.
- Participates as a FAC team member during scheduled appointments and contributes to the services provided.
- Meets with adult victims, caretakers and family members and offers psycho-educational information, anticipatory guidance and crisis counseling. Identifies needs and barriers to growth, development and safety and informs treating provider.
- Schedules follow up appointments or phone calls to ensure follow through on FAC recommendations and offer support as indicated by individual or family needs.
- Works with caretakers to ensure they understand and have the tools to provide a therapeutic and supportive environment for children and adolescents suffering the impact of child sexual abuse or sexual assault.
- Follows up on patient referrals and coordinates the provision of services at the Family Advocacy Center with community agencies and professionals such as social services, law enforcement, and behavioral health personnel to ensure timely and effective care for patients and their families.
- Provides relevant information and psychosocial histories to physicians, health team members, tribal social services, law enforcement and community social service agencies for their use in reaching decisions and putting into place interventions and/or psychosocial treatment.
- Participates in staff meetings and case review meetings to share their progress and to offer their good judgement and insight on patient or community problems or unmet needs of the children, adolescents and adults served by the Family Advocacy Center.
- Conducts and offers suggestions on performance for self- improvement projects and the Family Advocacy Center.
- Prepares and participates in reports, audits and other evaluation tools as required to assess the effectiveness of their work and the Family Advocacy Center to meet the requirements of funding agencies.
- Participates actively in program planning to raise the quality of care and safety of a vulnerable patient population by the development and maintenance of public understanding and sound working relationships with local agencies and community resources.
- Attends approved in and out of state conferences to maintain knowledge in the areas of child sexual abuse and sexual assault and advocacy.
- Attends community, group meetings relative to their responsibilities as a family advocate to address improvement of community resources.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience
MANDATORY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Three (3) years of direct work experience.
Education
Associate's Degree in any of the following areas: Human Services, Criminal Justice, Sociology,
Psychology, Counseling or Social Science related field.
