Title: Home Visitor/Parent Educator
Qualifications:

- Multilingual/Spanish Speaking preferred
- Successful experience in working with families and knowledge of child development
- Ability to communicate with collaborative agencies and support teams, sensitivity to diverse needs of school/community
Reports to: Executive Director of Elementary Education
Performance Responsibilities
- Conducts home visits for young children and their parents. Visits approximately 40 family homes a month.
- Assists parent educator with parent groups on a regular basis
- Initiates home visits and maintains case management records
- Helps parents learn skills they need to care for their family’s needs
- Serves as a liaison between families, schools, and social agencies.
- Conducts and assists in the screening and preparation of children and parents to enable families to fully participate in program activities and services
- Attends training relating to professional growth
- Performs other reasonable duties assigned by supervisor
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Physical demands require personnel to function at full capacity
- Full mobility enabling personnel to conduct home visits in client’s home, predominantly on floor
- Current driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Travel to client’s homes to conduct home visits
Terms of Employment: 190 day contract. Salary determined by placement on district home visitor salary schedule
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the board’s policy on evaluation of professional personnel.
