Job Description
Summary : Under minimal supervision, load, unload, and move materials within or near, shop, and / or warehouse. Recognize materials and saw to customer and / or job specifications.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following : Other duties may be assigned.
- Operate loading and unloading equipment (fork truck, pallet jack, hand, etc.) in a safe and responsible manner.
- Verifies material against job traveler by sight and / or measurement.
- Operate horizontal band saws and blade recognition with various materials.
- Track jobs completed through work area and staging of material for corresponding jobs.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints.
- Remove chip materials from shop area to scrap bins as needed.
- Keep general work area clean, organized and free of trash and clutter.
- Detail oriented.
- Provide courteous and professional service during customer or vendor interactions.
- Other duties as assigned by the area supervisor.
Physical Demands : Regularly required to walk or stand, use hands or fingers to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, or crawl, talk, and hear.
Occasionally required to climb or balance. Regularly required to lift and / or move 20 pounds, frequently up to 50 pounds.
Vision abilities include close, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Qualifications
Education and / or Experience : High School Diploma or equivalent.
Working knowledge of Material Specifications preferred.
Additional Information
This position will require about 10% travel ability to service our other plant in the area.
