Forte Products – a Plastics & Fiberglass manufacturer headquartered in Kansas City, MO - is looking for a Quality Manager. Forte is unique in the industry because we offer multiple molding processes out of four separate manufacturing plants. Forte Products offers a range of plastic manufacturing processes – rotational molding, vacuum forming and injection. We also offer substantial expertise in fiberglass manufacturing. We serve a wide range of industries such as, Commercial Airlines, Agriculture, Marine, Department of Defense, Lawn and Garden, Waste Services, Petroleum/C-Store and RV. We are family oriented, flexible, energetic, and driven. The Quality Manager will office out of the Cherryvale, KS or Burlington, KS facility.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages and trains Quality personnel on developing product knowledge and improving work skills
- Works with top management to implement and improve quality systems and procedures
- Works with the Plant Manager to implement methods of process controls and improvement
- Oversees the implementation of the Quality Plan
- Recommends revision of Quality Plan, Manuals, Work Instructions and forms
- Coordinates with customers to obtain interpretations of quality requirements and resolution of quality related criteria
- Supervises quality lab testing, recordkeeping, and promptly reporting discrepancies to the Plant Manager
- Assists Engineering in preparing samples, FAI parts and providing First Article Approval packages per the customer’s requirements
- Makes final Quality Assurance decisions in respect to the Quality Standards (go and no-go situations, first piece acceptance and other duties required of Forte’s QA system)
- Monitors and maintains customer standards
- Ensures drawings, specifications, and quality plans are being maintained and meets product manufacture
- Participates in project/program meetings to ensure that the Quality Plan, applicable specifications and expected quality conform to customer requirements
- Works with supervisors and managers to ensure understanding and compliance with all quality requirements
- Creates and recommends processes for all departments and areas of work impacted by quality including document control, procurement, work execution and training
- Administers corrective action processes
- Coordinates customer audits of the company’s quality system
- Travels between both Kansas facilities
