Junior GL Accountant – Perm Role
We are seeking a motivated and experienced accountant to join our GL team. This position requires an organized, technically proficient accountant with an analytical mind and the ability to learn quickly. The Jr. GL Accountant will be responsible for a wide range of accounting activities including preparing monthly GL entries and account reconciliations, preparing and updating schedules and analyses for internal and external reporting purposes, and generally supporting the accounting process. The role will also involve collaborating with cross-functional teams. The Junior GL Accountant role will report to the Sr. Manager of Accounting.
Functions & Responsibilities:
- Assist with month-end close including, but not limited to, journal entries and reconciling GL accounts for Prepaids & related, Fixed Assets, Intangibles, Open PO Accrual, Recurring JEs, etc.
- Assist on Fixed Assets process from review invoices, obtain confirmations, to prepare FA addition files, upload additions to Oracle Fixed Assets system
- Assist with monthly variance analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts for management review
- Coordinate with other departments to obtain transaction information, research reconciling items, and resolve issues
- Assist in quarterly reviews and annual audit with external auditors, prepare PBC schedules
- Assist with ad-hoc projects and management inquiries
Abilities & Competencies:
- BS in Accounting, 2 years’ minimum progressive experience in Accounting roles
- Large public company accounting team hands-on experience preferred
- Experience with Oracle R12 or similar global ERP system required, familiar with ARCS system or similar Account Reconciliation system preferred
- Must be a quick learner, self-initiated, detail oriented, organized, enthusiastic work attitude
- High degree of dedication to improvement and strong sense of ownership
- Strong analytical skills, creative problem-solving, and ability to summarize conclusions succinctly
- Flexibility and comfort with continuous change, willingness to take on challenges
- Ability to prioritize multiple duties and work independently
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to actively and attentively listen
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
