Job Description
Assist the production supervisor in the management and leadership of production personnel. Ensure the daily schedule is met in a safe manner with quality product by staffing required jobs in an efficient manner.
• Be a source of information and support for personnel.
• Identify potential work environment problems or inhibitors.
• Forward comments/concerns of personnel to supervisor.
• Evaluate performance and act in a timely fashion. (Reviews, warnings, etc…)
• Ensure completion of all training requirements.
• Assign personnel to specific jobs on a daily basis and ensure proper rotation.
• Promotes workplace safety by assuring universal precautions and safe work practices are used
• Assures fire/safety/disaster plans are established and communicated to all department personnel, participates in risk management assessments, maintains security and/or corrects unsafe working conditions, equipment repair and maintenance needs.
• Performs accident investigations as required and promotes the health and wellness efforts of the company. Gives positive feedback to those excelling in the area of safety and participating in the many opportunities to get involved.
• Ensure products produced meet quality standards.
• Ensure departments operate at acceptable efficiency levels.
• Ensure all equipment and machines are kept in working order.
• Control scrap at acceptable levels.
• Recommend improvements to current processes.
• Submit daily hours of personnel.
• Approve daily hours of personnel.
• Assume the responsibilities of the Supervisor in his/her absence.
• Work within the department.
• Complete other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Must abide by all Larson policies.
• Must be courteous and maintain a good working relationship with supervisors and co-workers.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.
• Two years or more of post-secondary education/technical school training or related job experience in a leadership role is a plus.
