What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Tech II position at Forty-Niner Shops?
Under the direction of the Supervisor and above, the I.T. Tech II assists in the continuity of desktop service throughout the Company. The Tech should understand the issues involved with administering and maintaining corporate infrastructure, including network connectivity, internet access, email, etc. for extensity training programs.

- Assists in supporting applications, user computer, peripherals, etc.
- Monitor Help Desk and assists trouble-resolution.
- Install and upgrade computer software and network equipment.
- Provides responses to internal clients in a timely manner.
- Maintain cash registers, computers and terminals.
- Researching computer products on manufacturer websites for infrastructure compatibility.
- Initiate purchase orders and follow-up.
- Assist system administrator with installation and maintenance of server hardware and software.
- Diagnose and resolve application and PC network connectivity issues.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and cleaning up equipment facilities.
- Coordinate with third party software support in order to troubleshoot proprietary software.
- Ensure IT system compliance with industry standards and applicable laws.
- Analyze and evaluate system or equipment problems and request repair service as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the job.
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Technology desired.
- 3 years of experience in Information Technology help desk supportAbility to effectively communicate in English both written and oral form.
- Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and must be customer service oriented.
- Knowledge of cloud computing and application.
- Knowledge of Active Directory and Vlan.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions regarding safety procedures.
- Knowledge point of sale retail systems desired.
- A or MCSE certification preferred.
- A Certification, plus any Microsoft certification is preferred.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships at all times and demonstrating cooperative behavior with a diverse population of staff, students, and co-workers.
- Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment. 49er Shop will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current 49er Shop employee who was conditionally offered the position.
A background check (including criminal records) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the 49er Shops at the CSU. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the application status of applicants or continued employment of current employees who apply for this position.
The job will require the employee to work in an office environment while working at a desk and viewing a computer screen for long periods of time. The employee is regularly required to sit, talk, hear and use office equipment within arm’s reach. Specific vision abilities are required, which may include close vision and ability to adjust focus. There will be time spent intermittently on their feet and moving around in a large building. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. The employee must comply with the University’s rules and regulations as well as the 49er Shops, Inc.
The employee is typically in a climate-controlled office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet. Work content requires numerous regulatory and reporting deadlines on a consistent basis.
