What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Engineering Intern position at Foss?
JOB SUMMARY:
The Engineering Intern will be expected to assist the Technical Engineering Team with daily activities to ensure safe and reliable design documentation for all Foss Maritime projects. In addition, the Intern will be assigned specific tasks to improve the engineering team's technical documentation process. Travel may be required, and work will be performed in environments ranging from outside to inside, noisy to quiet, hot to cold, and wet to dry, as well as in normal office environments. Regular and predictable attendance is required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* AutoCAD drafting experience
* Previous exposure to 3D modeling software
* Developing/Revising vessel technical drawings
* Weight and moment calculations
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
* MS Office Software
* Previous exposure to the engineering design process
* AUTOCAD LT 2024
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates currently or recently having attended a 4-year university with degree in an engineering discipline.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed primarily in an office environment with potential for periodic visits to shipyards, and vessels.
Pay: $20/hour
