BEHAVIORAL INTERVENTIONIST (BI) PROGRAM MANAGER

Reports to: President of Behavioral Services
Job Summary: The BI Program is designed to keep children with behavioral/mental health challenges stable in their current home. They have 2 areas of oversight; the staff working in the client’s home, and the caregivers of the youth served. The BI Program Manager provides leadership, management, direct program supervision, training & engagement of in-home staff, program planning & implementation, case consultation, & quality assurance oversight.
Responsibilities:
Administrative Leadership & Management
- Oversee/manage staff in Joplin, MO & Pittsburg, KS locations; ensuring high quality service that meet specific goals for the BI Program in the area
- Provide supervision/leadership enhancing the emotional intelligence of all staff
- Ensure all program activities are ethical & consistent with FAC's mission
- Employee & team satisfaction
- Monitor the workload of the Family Coordinators and BI Coordinators
- Conduct regular supervisory conferences with staff, providing support, guidance, evaluation, & receive feedback on program operations & case consultation
- Ensure all training requirements are met for staff
- Work with BI Program Leadership monitoring client referrals & waitlists to match clients with staff & future staffing
- Ensure reporting & procedural requirements are consistent & accurate
- Assign new referrals on time
- Assign new BIs to BI Coordinators
- Track completion of initial assessments/referral process
- Approve initial assessments, renewals, quarterlies, updates, & progress notes
- Manage completion of renewals & updates
- Ensure Critical Incident Report & Review Forms are done, including follow-up
- Provide support to staff during Out-of-Home Investigations
- Assist Family Coordinators & BI Coordinators with home visits & follow-up meetings
- Attend/participate in meetings, court, conferences, & trainings
- Keep open communication with direct supervisor
- Contribute towards agency culture, cultural competency, & performance improvement outcomes
Administrative/Performance, Quality & Improvement (PQI)
- Work with BI Leadership, branch offices & QA Coordinator to implement/lead the quality improvement process; including barriers & modifications to ensure program effectiveness
- Review file & shift note audits with the QA Coordinator
- Review/approve non-critical incident reports & client documentation
- Ensure Critical Incident procedure is followed: follow-up, documentation, & communication to Executive Leadership
- Actively participate so the agency’s efforts to assist clients & maintain Council on Accreditation & State/private contracts standards are coordinated for maximum effectiveness
- Work with BI Leadership, Coordinators & Finance Department re: Payroll
- Track Behavioral Program hours provided according to funding guidelines
- Provide timely required information for LINC & VOCA billing
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
- BA/BS (MA/MS preferred) in social work, psychology, public administration, or related human services field 2 years working in non-profit social service agency 2 years supervisory experience
- Core understanding of child welfare practice & policy
- Setting priorities, creating efficiencies, & guiding investment in people/systems
- Strategic thinker
- Commitment to support & advocacy for foster/adoptive families
- Advocate for positive outcomes within multi-disciplinary, diverse, & dynamic professional teams
