Ideally, you are a problem solver who has the ability to identify issues that could be impacting analytics accuracy and integrity and find the most efficient and reliable way to correct the tracking. You should have a passion for identifying and analyzing trends, patterns and anomalies in Analytics data to help inform account teams and clients. You take pride in your work and want to ensure consistently accurate marketing data is being collected, and can troubleshoot if the data seems incorrect.

THE ROLE
The Google Analytics & Tag Manager Specialist role is responsible for the daily management and optimization of our clients’ web analytics and tag management systems. This role reports to our Director of Data Intelligence. Your tasks will include auditing, creating, implementing and troubleshooting Google Analytics, conversion tracking and tag management installations on websites and apps. This role will also be responsible for producing reports and dashboards, providing actionable insights for account teams, QAing and troubleshooting marketing data, and maintaining technical documentation.
You’ll occasionally interact with clients and vendors through email, phone calls, or in-person meetings so excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills will come in handy.
RESPONSIBILITIES & ROUTINE ACTIVITIES
- Design and implement Google Analytics measurement plans based on individual client needs
- Conduct audits on client analytics and tag management implementations and compile recommendations and solutions
- Develop processes and technical documentation for analytics and tag management best practices
- Implement conversion and audience tracking for media and analytics platforms
- Validate tag implementations using testing and debugging tools to confirm tags are firing correctly and accurately
- Analyze data and provide recommendations and insights to internal and external stakeholders based on findings
- Conduct integration testing across digital analytics systems process flow to ensure all components are working as designed
- Troubleshoot and QA issues with analytics data
- Assist analyst teams by helping to automate reports and analysis
- Maintain knowledge of best practices within marketing analytics
- Improve and maintain internal and external documentation
- Coordinate with the paid media team on specific needs for reporting
- Maintain high level of client knowledge for designated clients
REQUIRED STRENGTHS, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE
- BA/BS in Informatics, Computer Science, Marketing, or other related fields
- 1-3 years of experience in a Marketing Analytics or related field
- Advanced expertise in Google Analytics (Universal and GA4)
- Expertise in the deployment and management of Google Tag Manager, Tealium a plus
- Experienced with Microsoft Excel
- Proficiency in Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides etc.) as well as Microsoft Office
- Understand how to properly analyze qualitative and quantitative data
- Passionate about marketing analytics and familiar with best practices
BONUS SKILLS
- Web development experience
- Prior digital media management and marketing analytics experience
- Experience with other analytics platforms (Adobe)
- Other tag manager experience (Tealium)
- Experience with Google Big Query
- Data API integration experience
- Experience with BI tools (Tableau, PowerBI) or Google Data Studio
