Found Village (FV) is seeking a passionate, mission-driven Development Associate, whose primary focus
is to support in the fundraising and development work being led by the Chief Development Officer.


The Development Associate provides support in all the critical areas of development and supports the
efforts of the CDO in managing all relevant communications, data and relationships. The ideal individual
will exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication,
administrative, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple
priorities. The Development Associate will have the ability to anticipate and be able to work under
pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion.


Grants, Events, Systems & Individual Donor Operations, Support and Management: (70%)
• Maintain donor database through data entry, managing reports and prioritization of
communication and engagement including prioritizing and tracking all outreach, meetings, and
follow-up between Chief Development Officer (CDO) and prospects/donors.
• Support the management and implementation of the donor engagement plan. Including mailing
materials, planning events, writing notes, making calls, etc.
• Manage grant calendar and prospecting lists in partnership with the grant team, supporting
development efforts to meet deadlines and manage timelines.
• Research potential funders, as needed, and add to prospect plans.
• Make initials calls to foundation prospects to share about our work, scheduling meetings, when
possible, for CDO and foundation representative and track all communication.
• Initiate donor meetings as directed and prepare any needed materials (printed or presentation)
for CDO and maintain system for follow ups and knowledge tracking.
• Support with ongoing communication to donors and community on behalf of CDO and
organization.
• Support with event planning and execution of events related to the donor engagement strategy.
• Attend events and network opportunities as needed.
• Miscellaneous activities and projects to support the overall fundraising goals of the organization.


Individual donor relationship, Support and Management: (30%)
• Plans and coordinates meetings for CDO ensuring appropriate accommodations and amenities as
needed.
• Research potential donors and input knowledge into database and include in prospecting plan
• Works closely and effectively with the CDO to keep her well informed of upcoming commitments
and responsibilities, following up appropriately. Acts as a "barometer," having a sense for the
issues taking place in the environment and keeping the CDO updated.
• Builds and maintains relationships crucial to the success of the CDO and the organization.
• Assist with moves management and support individual stewardship plans for donors.
• Drafts and edits external correspondence for the CDO as needed.
• Ad-hoc project support as needed (research, information gathering, building presentations,
spreadsheets, etc.)
• Prioritizes conflicting needs; handles matter expeditiously, proactively, and follows-through on
projects to successful completion, often with deadline pressures.

Education and Experience Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Experience in development or fundraising activities
• 2 years’ experience supporting C-level executives or top leaders.
• Comfortable with technology and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Outlook, Word, Excel
and PowerPoint) and Internet research tools

Reporting Relationships:
Reports to: CEO who serves as also as the Chief Development Officer


Other Requirements:
• Successful completion of full BCI background check required.
• Physical Requirements: requires standing and walking 25% of the time, lifting up to 25 pounds
• This position requires presence at key fundraising and volunteer engagement events. Some
evenings and weekends required. Reliable transportation and schedule flexibility are a must.
