Reports to: School Principal
Responsible: (Tasks you are responsible for. Tasks are subject to change)
Coach and develop teachers to reach our scholar achievement goals:
- Be an expert teacher. Co-teach and model outstanding instruction for teachers.
Coach a portfolio of teachers, take ownership over closing the gaps in achievement data, and facilitate effective planning and execution of meetings to ensure teachers are prepared to deliver high-quality lessons.
- Track, analyze and utilize school-wide achievement data and make adjustments to practice to meet outcomes
- Facilitate excellent, practice-changing professional development in response to scholar and teacher data, grounded in school/network goals and priorities.
- Observe classrooms daily and deliver targeted feedback so teachers can build content and pedagogical skills.
- Direct the interim assessment process to ensure teachers use current data to drive instruction; facilitate regular, meaningful, interim assessment data debriefs with teachers.
Serve as an active member of the school leadership team:
- Be a liaison between families and teachers to effectively build relationships in support of scholars.
- Actively participate and engage in regular leadership team meetings, walkthroughs, and monthly leadership development training.
- Work closely with the Vice Principal of Culture and Community to ensure character development among staff and scholars, and a positive school culture.
Demonstrate exceptional leadership skills:
- Demonstrate the ability to be self-aware in stressful situations and model exceptional self-management skills.
- Lead with accountability, empathy, emotional intelligence and empowerment. Lead by example.
- Engage in Courageous conversations when there is a breach in our high performance culture.
- Collaborate with the K-12 VPoACS’s to norm on practices, learn from each other, and improve scholar achievement.
- Consistently model FA core values; be a visible and highly engaged leader in the school community.
- Remain current on best practice and differentiate approaches for teachers
Accountable: (What you are accountable for. What you are accountable for does not change, You are the decider on these things)
- Effective coaching and development of teachers, leading to 85% proficiency and a 30% increase proficiency overall in scholar achievement results, outperforming city and state metrics in ELA and Math on NJSLA.
- Partnering with teachers to establish and maintain high standards of team performance by holding them to our bar for excellence where they maintain a score of proficient or above on our evaluation system by ensuring teachers are clear on their level of performance and steps to improve. providing actionable feedback, ongoing development and resources to continuously improve thus retaining 90% of teachers.

- Curriculum implementation and unit plan development
- School and Staff culture
- Staff and student experience resulting in 90% teacher retention and positive staff experience based on staff surveys.
- Special Services programming: Special Education and ENL performance and modifications
Informed: (Ensure you are up-to-date on how these systems influence the items you are accountable for)
- Performance Management and Evaluation System for Teacher and Leader Development
- All things Scholar and Staff Culture: PBIS, Culture and Climate, Attendance
Educational Background and Work Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree; master’s degree and Principal CE or eligibility required within the first two months of employment.
- At least 5 years of exceptional teaching experience with a record of high student achievement.
- At least 2 years of successful experience leading and managing adults.
Salary: 97,500-110,000
