The Opportunity:
Accounting Generalist
Who We Look For:
We are looking for an Accounting Generalist who shares a passion for excellence and who infuses enthusiasm into everything they do. The ideal candidate for this role will be seeking growth opportunity in the accounting field, have a great eye for detail and process, and a basic understanding of accounting function within an organization.
Responsibilities:
The Accounting office structure may vary and responsibilities will be adapted as required.
- Maintain and process a full-cycle accounts payable process including purchase order approval, invoice coding and processing of payment.
- Ensure correct classification of all revenue, including miscellaneous and accounts payable related revenue.
- Review banquet checks against Catering orders for accuracy of preparation.
- Good understanding of Month-End Process, including but not limited to preparation of financial statements, accruals and journal entries, maintain reconciliations for all balance sheet accounts in established corporate formats and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Collect/Audit paperwork from all revenue centers in the hotel ensuring accuracy and compliance with Four Seasons’ Internal Controls and local hotel polices.
- Work as the liaison between the Payroll team and hotel with regards to the functions of Income Audit, Accounts Payable and Reconciliation. Additionally, responsible for assisting with month end process and maintaining the general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Director of Finance or Assistant Director of Finance.
- This is a non-union, non-management role.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous Accounting experience and/or Business Degree preferred. Previous Hotel experience a plus.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Must be able to work as part of a team
- Good communication skills - Reading, writing, and oral proficiency in the English language
- Excellent computer skills especially Excel; knowledge of OPERA (or equivalent PMS) and experience in cashiering preferred
