Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale is a luxury hotel nestled in the foothills of Pinnacle Peak amid towering cacti, enriched with outstanding design and talent. https://www.fourseasons.com/scottsdale/ https://www.instagram.com/fsscottsdale/ The Opportunity: The Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale is in search of a talented Engineering Resort Maintenance Apprentice, who will work as helpers and rotate on a 3-month basis among each of the departmental divisions to learn the basics of each trade with the goal of preparing them for an entry level role in the department. The departmental Divisions are as follows: Guestroom Maintenance - PM Mechanical and Golf Cart - PM Painting Carpentry Pools and Water Features Landscaping Administration/Life Safety. Some of the responsibilities include: To carry out basic maintenance and repairs on the resort and its and Equipment and all associated systems under the guidance of the engineers and engineering supervisors. To work alongside other trades persons assisting them in their daily duties. Make independent decisions when delivering building services engineering projects, while knowing their own limitations and when to ask for help or to escalate. On occasion, carry out planned preventative maintenance tasks. Learn new techniques, with training, as required for the introduction of new work, equipment or legislation as the resort evolves and train others in areas of your work. The duration of the apprenticeship will be approximately 24 months in order to complete a full 3-month rotation in each division of the department gaining experience across a wide range of technical skills and challenges. Eligibility: Due to the nature of the work required by this role it is open to over 18’s only or those who will be 18 when the role commences. The following qualifications are required for this role: High School Diploma or Equivalent Ability to read, write and verbally communicate effectively in English Keen awareness of safe work practices in a workshop environment Computer Literacy in Microsoft Office Programs Ability to sit sand bend kneel for extended periods of time. The following qualifications are desirable for this role: Basic hands-on experience in any or all of the following: Painting and Carpentry Automotive Maintenance Pool Maintenance Plumbing and Electrical Landscaping Skills and Experience: The successful candidate will have the following skills/experience: An ability to build knowledge in all areas of reactive and preventative maintenance and an interest in working in general maintenance and repairs at the resort including how health and safety and its impacts on the role. Willingness to learn good communication skills and demonstrate communicating ideas to stake holders and working with a broad range of people at all levels whilst upholding the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion. A keen interest in building maintenance and engineering, with the ability to apply knowledge to real life situations and make sound decisions. Able to use information technology to communicate by e mail and basic use of office software along with an ability to learn to use custom software to record work completed during the working day.
