What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nanny position at Fourteen Foods Career Center?
NOTE: This position is on-site in Franklin, TN.
Position Summary: The Nanny will provide childcare for CEO’s 4 children, and other related tasks.
Essential Functions:
- Putting the absolute safety of the Children first before all other responsibilities. Examples include requiring the Children to wear helmets while bicycling, snowboarding, or engaging in other vigorous activities; wearing seatbelts at all times a vehicle is in motion; wearing lifejackets on boats or docks; actively supervising swimming or other potentially dangerous activities. Nanny is also expected to set a good example for the Children by demonstrating these safe behaviors herself,
- Preparing nutritious meals and snacks for the Children during scheduled hours and cleaning up kitchen and dining areas when completed.
- Participating and supervising daily activities with the Children that are appropriate for their mutual ages, including games, songs, walks, play dates, playground outings, and reading.
- Researching and planning activities that contribute to child development (physical, emotional, and intellectual), social relationship skills, and have educational value.
- Driving the Children to and from school on weekdays during the school year, when needed.
- Scheduling and taking the Children to medical and dental appointments as directed by parent.
- Administering medication to the Children as directed by Parent.
- Accompany the Children to scheduled sports, activities, and lessons as directed by Parent.
- Limiting screen time to no more than 60 minutes per day.
- Teaching and reinforcing positive values, carrying out the Parent’s wishes and instructions related to caring for and rearing the Children.
- Maintaining detailed calendar with all school dates, activity and sports schedules, and appointments.
- Maintaining household cleanliness and organization, as well as other tasks and errands.
- Coordinating with the parents to procure and cook meals as needed.
- Nanny will help with laundry, as well as general household tasks as assigned, such as light housekeeping, and assist in keeping the home neat and clean. Nanny may assist with grocery shopping or other errands upon the Parent’s request. Nanny may assist with some preparation of the evening meal. Nanny will also grant access to Parent’s Home for service personnel as requested by Parent.
- Maintenance, fueling and cleaning the nanny and family vehicle.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- 3 years of professional childcare experience.
- Strong work ethic, resourcefulness, and motivation.
- Consistent and reliable character.
- Trustworthy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of highly sensitive information.
- Highly professional demeanor with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to think on your feet and quickly adapt to changing conditions and priorities.
- Ability to work during the school year with flexible hours starting between 10:00am-12:00pm and ending between 6:00pm-8:00pm, depending on scheduling needs, Monday-Friday. During the summer, hours are more typically around 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday. Weekly or bi-weekly one evening will be later. Overnight stay approximately 2-4 nights per quarter.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- You enjoy taking care of children and are able to follow the directions of the parents.
- Able to maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Able to maintain current certifications in CPR and first aid.
