Medical Assistant
Fowlerville Medical Center – Fowlerville, MI
Family Practice office in Fowlerville, MI is looking for a part time Medical Assistant.
Description and Essential Functions
· Provides clinical support to physicians by taking vital signs, obtaining chief complaints and filling out medical histories.
· Maintains examination rooms by ensuring they are clean, well-stocked, and up to date.
· Provides routine information to patients regarding their condition, normal diagnostic results, and medications. Completes related paperwork.
· Assists physicians in exams and procedures as required.
Expectations
· Maintains strict patient and employee confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA guidelines
· Assumes responsibility for performance of job duties considering factors related to safety, effectiveness, efficiency, and environmental concerns in planning and delivering care.
· Works as part of a medical team, and provides support to other medical assistants and receptionists as requested, when time permits.
· Basic understanding of health insurance, office policies, office procedures, and preventative care guidelines.
Required Education, Experience, and Licensure
· Medical Assistant certification with relevant experience as a Medical Assistant OR 1 years relevant experience as a Medical Assistant.
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Experience working in family or general practice preferred.
Required Skills and Abilities
· Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with physicians, patients, coworkers, and other department representatives.
· Basic computer skills necessary to learn a variety of hardware and software.
· Good organizational and time management skills.
· Ability to wear personal protective equipment for prolonged periods.
