Position Overview: An exciting role exists for an Embedded Control System Engineer, specializing in embedded electronics development within the Powered Vehicles Group (PVG) Advanced Development Team at FOX. The Advanced Development Team creates, develops and implements new technologies for a range of FOX markets including automobiles, off-road vehicles, ATVs, snowmobiles, motorcycles, and future transportation modes. The team also functions as a resource for technical capabilities such as hardware/software/electronics prototyping, data analysis and computer simulation for the overall organization. As a result, the Advance Development Team works collaboratively with all PVG business groups. The candidate will be instrumental in the development of innovative concepts and next generation IP. Being part of a small team he or she must be a creative, forward thinker that is dedicated to advancing the technological capabilities of FOX. The candidate must also demonstrate a relevant and highly motivated work history. Required Qualifications/Experience: BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. Minimum 5 years as an engineer in automotive, aerospace, automation, IoT or equivalent field Experience with embedded control systems and control algorithm development Experience with embedded code and embedded systems Experience with the implementation of sensors, transducers and data acquisition systems Proficient with MATLAB and Simulink Experience with validation and verification testing of software controlled electro-mechanical systems Understanding of software development processes for real-time embedded hardware/software applications Experience with network communication protocols (CAN & Ethernet) Willingness to be hands-on Outstanding communication and solid interpersonal skills Team player Preferred Experience/Skills: Experience/ familiarity with any of the following is preferred: Developing embedded systems/products for automotive applications Developing algorithms for control of servos, solenoids and other controllable components Automotive network communication protocols (CAN FD, LIN, PSI5 and others) Understanding of ride dynamics & vehicle dynamics Knowledge of automotive electrical chassis systems Electronics integration and testing Electromechanical valves, actuators and other components Suspension design, ride dynamics and vehicle dynamics Computer modeling/simulation tools Basic wire harness design Familiarity with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and other wireless communication technologies Responsibilities include but not limited to: Control algorithm development using software tools such as Matlab/Simulink Integration, testing and development of embedded electronic control systems Creation of software tools/interfaces Vehicle testing Work with cross functional teams to develop electronics/control systems Work Environment and Physical Requirements: Office Environment Ability to sit for long periods of time Vision abilities required to validate and enter data on computer Disclaimer: This list does not represent all physical demands.
