Painter

Position Summary:

Responsible for spraying prepared surfaces with specified amounts of primers and decorative or finish coatings.

Position Responsibilities:

• Repair and refinish painted bumpers
• Repair and refinish painted mirrors, door handles, fender flares, side moldings and spoilers.
• Buff and touch up minor chips and scratches
• Mix paints to match color specifications or original colors, stirring or thinning paints, using spatulas or power mixing equipment.
• Select paint according to company requirements and match paint colors, following specified color charts.
• Dispose of hazardous waste in an appropriate manner.
• Prep vehicle surfaces in preparation for paint application, using abrasives, solvents, brushes, blowtorches, washing tanks, or sandblasters.
• Paint application system — Paint booths and spray guns

Position Qualifications:

Education:

HS graduate or equivalent

Experience:

3 years of automotive painting

Some fiberglass finishing experience required

Work Environment and Physical Requirements:

Manufacturing Environment

Lift up to 50 lbs. regularly

Requires walking, standing, bending and lifting for long periods of time

Vision abilities required to validate and enter data on computer
