Electrical Engineer – Motor Engineering
Job Description
Location: Central Arkansas
FoxDen Capital is a fast driven independently owned company headquartered in Little Rock, Arkansas and thrives on capital investments, hospitality ventures, and local growth of various industries in Central Arkansas. Our growing team is currently seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer with expertise in fractional to low horsepower motors and proficiency in variable frequency applications. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and optimizing electrical systems that utilize low horsepower motors across a range of variable frequency applications.
Overarching Goals Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical systems and components focused on low horsepower motors and their integration into various applications.
- Oversee manufacturing of stators and rotors. Ensure quality and performance standards are met in manufactured parts.
- Conduct feasibility studies and simulations to optimize motor performance and efficiency in variable frequency environments, innovate and iterate on motor designs.
- Perform detailed calculations, simulations, and analysis to validate design concepts and troubleshoot issues. Conduct testing/benchmarking of motor performance with dynamometer and other tools/methods as necessary.
- Create and maintain technical documentation such as specifications, test procedures, and reports.
- Develop motor design strategies that incorporate the latest technologies and manufacturing processes and collaborate with manufacturing engineering on how to improve motor designs to reduce cost/increase production capacity.
Qualifications
Qualifications of this role are as shown below but are not limited to:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Proven experience (5 years) in designing electrical systems with a focus on low horsepower motors and low frequency applications.
- Strong knowledge of motor control theory, electromagnetic principles, thermal management, and power electronics.
- Experience with design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical) for schematic design and layout.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to electrical systems and motor applications.
