Salary: $70,000-$80,000 plus benefits

Future of Privacy Forum is a nonprofit organization that serves as a catalyst for privacy leadership and scholarship, advancing principled data practices in support of emerging technologies. FPF brings together industry, academics, consumer advocates, and other thought leaders to explore the challenges posed by technological innovation and develop privacy protections, ethical norms, and workable business practices.

Future of Privacy Forum’s support base is diverse, including over 210 corporate supporters including major tech companies, retailers, financial institutions, start-ups, media companies and others. Prominent foundations, including the National Science Foundation and other leading private foundations, also provide support to FPF. The FPF Advisory Board helps set direction for FPF activities and includes leading chief privacy officers, privacy academics, and advocacy groups. 


General Overview

This role will support the Business Development department with operations and fulfillment for the FPF Training and Sponsorship programs and other business development initiatives.

Core Responsibilities

The Business Development Operations Manager leads and supports day-to-day operations work of FPF.

Training Operations Duties:

  • Liaison between the Training Team and other internal team (i.e., Events, Communications, and Membership Teams), duties include, but not limited to:

    • Creates and keeps Google spreadsheet of all trainings up-to-date

    • Keeps Monday.com Boards up-to-date with tasks completed and sends reminders for tasks that still need completion

    • Works with the Events Team to get group codes created and sent to potential trainees

    • Maintains process documents and updates them as necessary

    • Runs SalesForce reports for both public and private training revenue

    • Updates FPF Member portal with relevant training information

    • Works with Membership to run various reports for outreach/prospecting

    • Sends survey reminder emails to trainees

  • Main point of contact with Credly, FPFs digital badging company; support for various operational tasks associated with digital badges

  • Main point of contact with IAPP for CPE credits; support for various operational tasks associated with CPE credits

  • Liaison with FPF Faculty Trainers, duties include, but not limited to:

    • Checks availability for training classes

    • Schedules pre and post training calls

    • Sends Faculty Trainer check list

    • Follow-up with Faculty Trainer for final training PPT deck

    • Sends Faculty Trainer survey info

  • Compiles training survey data and distributes

  • Creates training invoices in SalesForce and logs appropriate communications around payments

  • Creates and maintains competitive training document

  • Reminds FPF staff to promote training sessions on LinkedIn and shares registration information

  • Supports Senior Director of Business Development with other projects associated to the training program


Sponsorship Operations Duties:

  • Liaison between Business Development Team and other internal departments to ensure fulfillment of sponsorship sales

  • Works with the sponsor to ensure timely receipt of deliverables, such as logo, advertisement, promotional items, draft remarks, etc.

  • Updates Monday.com sponsorship boards to keep teams on task

  • Creates sponsorship invoices in SalesForce and logs appropriate communications around payments

  • Assists Senior Director of Business Development with creation and maintenance of sponsorship prospecting lists   


Candidate Profile

  • Commitment to the mission of FPF

  • Track record of effective and inclusive collaboration with diverse internal and external stakeholders

  • Direct experience with operations management

  • At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience

  • Demonstrated success with effective project management

  • Basic knowledge of SalesForce

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and detail orientation

  • Excitement for taking on new projects and growing 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • Privacy knowledge a plus
