Automotive Applications Engineer

Support new product development and improve manufacturing operations. Operates under supervision of the Vice President of Research & Development.

Job Category: Hourly, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Job Requirements

• Design new products or modify existing ones.
• Troubleshoot and solve engineering problems.
• Plan and design manufacturing processes.
• Associate's degree and/or 2 years automotive experience required.
• ASE or Welding Certificate a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Utilization of work order processing software.
• Creation of R&D drafts, drawings, schematics for new/updated parts/components/products.
• Assist in the development of new/updated standards for production based on R&D designs.
• Assist in the application of new/improved procedures, tooling, equipment into production areas.
• Work closely with R&D Engineers in product development and upgrades.
• Researching, designing, developing and producing vehicles and components.
• Predicting vehicle or component behavior under different conditions using computerized models.
• Developing testing procedures.
• Investigating product failures.
• Analyzing, interpreting and condensing technical data into reports or presentations.
• Contribute to the evolution and improvement of current systems and processes.

Physical Job Requirements

• Ability to hear/follow instructions/communicate in English in a loud work environment;
• Ability to pass safety sensitive position physical requirements IF plant-based work is performed.

Salary & Compensation:

The Automotive Design Engineer position is a standard hourly position with approximate pay rate dependent upon qualifications and experience.
